It’s the A Foot In The Crease – trade deadline edition however, unlike TSN’s unprecedented ten hour coverage with twelve in-studio commentators and another six roaming correspondents following each of the six Canadian teams, we can only offer you two: Dave and Jeff. Nevertheless we’ll touch on all the moves made by the Maple Leafs in the Redline Report as we assess Brian Burke’s first major test as Maple Leafs’ general manager. Of course, to kick things off, we look at the past two Maple Leaf games from another successful week of action and spin you through an important Revolving Door segment.
In Quick Hits, we look at other significant moves that took place around the league although there were not as many as in previous years. Also news on a suspension to Brendan Witt for an elbow to the head of Niklas Hagman, a Wild goaltending signing, the return of Sean Avery and the demotion of Miro Satan follow to conclude the segment. On The Bubble, as always, features Listener Email and an abbreviated edition of the Junior Hockey Report.
Wrapping On The Bubble is the return of Matt Marquardt of the Providence Bruins to the program. In his first year as a professional after completing his Junior Hockey career at the end of last season, we discuss the adjustments he has faced moving up to the pro level, his role with the Providence Bruins and the benefit of being involved with a successful organization among many other topics.
Rigamarole wraps the show with one final overview of a very cautious trade deadline in the NHL.
Big thanks to Matt Marquardt for taking time to come back on the program for a second time earlier on Wednesday before his team took on the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum.
